Spoken news in your chosen language

Choose the language for your news briefing

Last updated: 20 October 2026

AiWake lets you save a briefing language for each alarm. Free includes English (US and UK). Plus and Pro also include the languages listed below. Your phone needs a suitable installed voice to read the briefing aloud.

Which briefing languages are available?

Free includes three English briefings each week. Plus includes 15 briefings each week, and Pro includes 50. Both paid plans also support:

  • Spanish (Spain)
  • Spanish (Mexico)
  • French
  • German
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Arabic
  • Hindi
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Indonesian
  • Thai
  • Vietnamese

These are briefing languages. Choosing one does not translate every screen in the app or every linked publisher's article.

Save a language in your alarm

  1. Create an alarm or open an existing alarm's settings.
  2. Choose a topic under “What topic do you want to wake up to?”
  3. Find Briefing Language and select your language.
  4. Choose the briefing length and voice settings, then save the alarm.

You do not need to add “answer in German” or another language instruction to each topic. Use the language control for that choice. You can keep different language choices in different alarms.

For example, choose German as the language and enter a clear subject such as “Public transport news in Berlin”. This is a suggested input, not a promise of daily coverage. The topic guide explains how to make a request more specific.

If the voice sounds wrong

AiWake uses your device's speech voices. If the chosen voice is missing, the app can use another available voice. The language of the generated words and the voice used to speak them are separate settings.

On iPhone, open Settings and search for “Voices” or “Spoken Content”. Download a voice for your language, then return to AiWake. On Android, search Settings for “Text-to-speech” and install the language voice. The exact menu names can vary by phone.

Changing the voice does not change your plan. A Free account must use English, or choose a paid plan to use the other supported briefing languages. Your store shows the price before purchase.

Before you use a morning briefing

A fresh briefing needs an internet connection. On iPhone with iOS 26 or later, tap Open AiWake when the alarm rings. Earlier iOS versions use standard notifications. Keep a backup alarm for important events.

News coverage varies, and AiWake can make errors. Check the linked reports when a detail matters. Those reports can be in a different language from your briefing.
