Choose your own news topics
Your topics are not a fixed list
You do not have to choose only markets, technology or sport. In AiWake, you can type the subject you want to hear about in your own words. The suggested topics are examples to help you start.
Start with one clear subject
Open an alarm's settings and find “What topic do you want to wake up to?” A short, clear request helps describe the news you want.
Here are three examples you can adapt. They are suggested inputs, not promises that a new report will be available each day.
| Broad topic | A more specific request |
|---|---|
| Technology | News about AI tools for small businesses |
| Football | Liverpool FC results and team news |
| Local news | Public transport news in Singapore |
Add a place, team, company or subject when it matters. For example, “transport news” could cover many countries. “Public transport news in Singapore” gives the request a clearer focus.
Adjust it after listening
If a briefing covers too much, narrow the subject in your alarm settings. If it feels too narrow, use a broader subject. You can also change the briefing length and speaking speed.
Start with a subject you already understand. This makes it easier to judge whether the briefing is useful and whether you need to check a source.
What a custom topic does not guarantee
A very specific subject may have little recent coverage. AiWake can make errors, and a custom request does not guarantee a particular article or a complete account of the news. Open the cited sources when you need to check a detail.
Do not put passwords or private account details in a topic. Use briefings for information, not as a replacement for professional advice.
Custom topics are included in the Free plan's three English briefings each week.
